Tyne Derwent Way in a Box is a multi-generational project. Working with young neurodiverse creatives, older crafters and people who live in care homes.
We were asked by the National Trust and the Tyne & Wear Building Preservation Trust to take the role of the creative producer for this project in 2024.
This project aimed to introduce new audiences to the 9-mile route of the Tyne Derwent Way, create a range of sensory tools through a variety of workshops and combine these tools to make sensory boxes that could be enjoyed by people living in residential care homes.
Our role was to deliver the following:
Design a programme of engagement
Project manage Tyne Derwent Way in a Box
Liaise with all partner organisations
Ensure safeguarding throughout the project
Liaise with parents and young people
